Your data plans go further with a tariff of Rs 50/GB. The more data you use, lower will be the rate.”
Jio’s app will be available for an annual subscription of Rs 15,000. The Reliance chief said, “It will be available free for all active Jio customers till December 31, 2017. Great pleasure to announce a revolutionary concept for Indian market. Jio is an entire eco-system that’ll allow Indians to live digital life to the fullest.” He added saying, “Jio’s pricing is about solving customers’ pain points.” Talking about his telecom venture, he said, “Reliance Jio will move India from data shortage to data abundance.
Data is oxygen of digital life; data should not be unaffordable to anyone.” Jio welcome offer will be open to everyone from September 5. He said, “I have set a target for team Jio to achieve 100 million customers in least time and set a record Reliance Jio welcome offer open to everyone from September 5. Every Indian can do ‘data-giri.” Other telecom networks will face tough competition in the market following Jio’s launch. Bharti Airtel slashed prepaid data rates by 8 per cent on Monday.
Further Ambani said, “Relaince Jio is the largest 4G LTE in the world. Jio already connects 2 lakh villages, 18,000 towns. It will cover 90 per cent of India by March 2017. In the next 20 years we will achieve what have achieved in the last 100 years. Today, I set a target fr team JIO to acquire 100 million customers on JIO network in shortest possible time and create new world record.” Talking about competitors, Ambani said, “Incumbent operators have significant advantages over new entrance since incumbents have well established networks. No doubt all of us operators will compete vigorously in market. Will inspire each other to rise to greater heights, while doing so.”
